Just one flaw in your theory. At the time there was only a few BMWs in the $80k range. A majority ranged from $30-60k, but this was a good investment.

Yes, but considering the 12% overall increase in sales that BMW gained, it was a good investment. Think about it. Let’s say, these films help BMW sell 600 more cars. At approximately $80,000 per car, that would be nearly $50 Million. They can easily fund these shorts.

This is like a Smokin Aces movie, which this commercial is actually directed by the same director John Carnahan and Ray Liotta somewhat reprises the same role as in Smokin Aces.
